Key Responsibilities:

Installation:
- Cable Setup: Installing coaxial, fiber optic, or Ethernet cables to connect customers' homes or businesses to the cable provider’s infrastructure.
- Service Equipment Setup: Setting up cable modems, routers, set-top boxes, digital TV receivers, and other related equipment.
- Testing and Calibration: Ensuring that the cables and equipment are properly connected and configured to work at peak performance, which may include testing signal strength and adjusting settings.
- Wire Management: Routing and securing cables in a tidy and organized manner, both inside and outside buildings, to prevent damage or interference.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Troubleshooting Signal Issues: Identifying and fixing issues such as poor or no signal, intermittent service, or connectivity problems. This often involves testing cables, equipment, and signal pathways.
- Repairing Damaged Cables: Replacing or repairing broken cables, faulty connectors, or damaged components that affect service quality.
- Upgrades and Modifications: Updating existing equipment or cables to improve service, such as upgrading to higher-speed internet services or adding new features.

Customer Service:
- Customer Education: Explaining to customers how to use their cable service and equipment, as well as troubleshooting basic issues.
- Service Calls: Responding to customer complaints and service requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Promoting Additional Services: Some cable technicians may also inform customers of additional services or features they could benefit from, such as higher-speed internet or premium TV channels.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Record-Keeping: Keeping detailed records of service installations, repairs, and customer interactions for future reference.
- Reporting Service Issues: Documenting issues, faulty equipment, and necessary follow-up actions for system improvements.

Compliance and Safety:
- Adhering to Codes: Ensuring that installations meet all local building codes and safety standards.
- Safety Practices: Using safety gear (e.g., gloves, safety harnesses for climbing) and following best practices when working with electrical systems or high-voltage equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with cable types (coaxial, fiber optic, Ethernet), tools for cable splicing, and equipment like modems and routers.
- Troubleshooting Abilities: Ability to diagnose and fix signal issues or wiring problems effectively.

  • Must be reliable and dependable

  • Valid Driver’s license

  • Pass Drug Screening

  • Pass Nationwide Background Check

  • Own vehicle (SUV, minivan or pick up truck)

  • Own tools

  • Own 28 FT & 6FT Fiberglass Ladder

  • Viavi Meter or Veex Meter

  • MUST Own Smartphone S22 or S23FE

  • Own Safety Gear

  • Must be able to lift 80LBs

  • Can climb ladders, crawl in tight spaces, kneel/sit/stand or bend for long periods of time

  • Work a flexible schedule that might include evenings and weekends

  • Able to work in all outdoor conditions
